Located on a peninsula the picturesque Venetian old town is home of an UNESCO World Heritage Site: the Euphrasius Basilica with its precious Byzantine mosaics. When you visit the Basilica, do not miss to climb the bell tower, from which you can enjoy a wonderful view over the roofs of Poreč and the sea.

It is also worth walking along the fortress walls and through the historic old town, which has been spruced up in the last years. Many streets and roads in the old city are redesigned, numerous small shops, restaurants, bars and cafes have settled here.
If possible, you should visit Poreč off-season, as the city is usually crowded during the months of July and August. However, getting sufficient and well-marked parking spaces close to the city center is still possible during this period.
