Istria is a popular destination for families with children. The region offers a wide range of activities and attractions for both children and adults.
One of the main attractions in Istria is undoubtedly the sea. The coastline is characterised by crystal clear waters and picturesque coves, perfect for a family outing. Many beaches are shallow and safe for children to swim and splash around in. There are also plenty of water parks and aquariums for a day of fun and adventure.
Another great way to experience nature in Istria is to cycle or hike through the countryside. Many of the routes are family friendly and offer beautiful views of the sea and mountains. Popular walking and cycling routes include the Parenzana Cycle Route, which passes through picturesque villages and olive groves, and the Brijuni National Park, where the family can enjoy a boat trip and wildlife watching.
For families with an interest in history, there are also many historical sites and museums in Istria that offer an insight into the region's rich past. The old town of Pula, for example, is full of Roman ruins and impressive architecture. The Arena of Pula, a Roman amphitheatre, is one of the city's most famous landmarks and a must-see for history buffs.
